How to Use This Toolkit

The toolkit is modular, so each section can be used on its own.

For artists, writers and performers, it offers practical guidance on handling boycott requests, social pressure and institutional decisions, with decision tools, example responses and information on rights.

For venues, publishers and festivals, it provides frameworks for responding to public campaigns or internal petitions, including crisis protocols, policy examples and communication templates.

For agents, managers and promoters, it includes tools to help balance artistic integrity with reputational risk, such as contract clauses, communication approaches and risk frameworks.

Each module can be used as a reference when pressure arises, or as a starting point for developing internal policies.
